sony music jobs nyc
What job(s) pays the most?
I have an MBA from Harvard Business School. However, I love the music industry and have a great ear for talent. I have a few choices for career.
1. Become an associate at a major investment bank in NYC.
2. Start my own record label and become CEO of the label.
3. Work at Sony Music Entertainment.
4. Start my own wealth management company and become CEO.
5. Work at MTV Networks (Viacom). I interned there one summer and LOVED IT!
Which one of these jobs pays the best? Which one is the best?
According to your other questions you’re only 16. So first you have to GET that MBA. So before that you have to do well in high school.
However a lot of people do well without MBAs, if they are in a business they know and understand and love.
Forget about being CEO anytime soon. You can’t start there. Forget making 6-figures incomes, too. You have to work your way up. You could make a website and call yourself “CEO” but that will be meaningless when you are also the mailboy, coffee-maker, floor sweeper and work 2 jobs to pay for the web hosting.
Stop dreaming of being fake.
GET REAL and BE REAL. You’ve done a summer job at MTV and you love music? go back there, apply for any job they have going, summer and weekends while you finish high school. If you are really useful to them, they might even support you with some work while you go through college.
Once you DO have a degree, and have that 3 or 4 years of music industry work under your belt, you will also know people in the industry. THAT is the time to start thinking of moving out, to a record label or other similar company. Or MTV might just like you enough to promote you.
Once you start getting decent money, continue to live to a budget, and put your savings into investments. Forget about working in wealth management, at a time of your life when you probably can’t budget $1000.
Don’t count on being a CEO of even a small company until you’re well into your 30s. But you can be a VP in charge of a large division of a big company by then, and pulling in 6 figures, IF you are good at what you do.
Running your own business is a huge headache and a huge financial risk, which requires capital to start, which you don’t have. The best way is to work your way to a high position in a big organisation, but use half of your increasing income to INVEST, so you can afford to go independent when you are ready to.
Now please start thinking about these things and STOP ASKING HERE every day….your doubts and uncertainty are showing. Spend the time looking in more detail into the careers you’re thinking about.
PS – in any job you’ll do better if you treat the other people right. So far you’ve done the wrong thing at Answers, by not bothering to give anyone feedback or choosing a Best Answer. You’ll not go far in any occupation if you don’t treat the other people with respect.

Searching for online music creator software programs can be difficult. The web is crowded with music making software packages that aresound303066_mixing_desk geared for a variety of ability levels. And there is a wide variety of price tags as well. In my quest to find the best music making software, I’ve researched many of these “make your own music” offerings. In reality I’ve found that most of them are simply not worth the money. However, I’ve recently found a music creator program that is certainly worth the investment cost.
