Summer BBQ theme parties
With summer just around the corner people dusting off the grill, wipe down furniture, and getting ready for company. In the years since you host that dinner party or entertaining family and friends, why not make it a theme party? Create a theme and sticking to it with costumes and decorations bring your party better than the rest of originality and fun. If you have any kind of outdoor living space and want to enjoy some warm summer evenings with friends, these party ideas a chance.
Hawaiian Luau – Do not worry, you have to roast a whole pig to do this one authentic. Ask guests to dress appropriately, grass skirts, ridiculous Hawaiian shirt, lei's and do not forget the coconut bra! Decorate your yard with tiki torches, Hawaiian lei strings and serves drinks with lots of festive fruit garnish like pineapple or coconut wedges. Mini umbrellas never hurt anyone either!
The Honky-tonk – Pull out your cowboy hats and boots and get ready to Giddy Up! A Western theme is super easy to pull off, perfect for grilled snacks, chili and some beans and Wieners. Scatter a little hay in the yard and drag the scarecrow that sits in the basement until Halloween and you are halfway there. Invite guests to show up in Western clothes and practice some country line dancing!
Mardi Gras – It's all about the beads, bright colors, the masks and music to this one. Painted faces, patio lanterns and a carnival atmosphere means Mardi Gras is fun for all. Block Fat Tuesday on your social calendar, Get some Southern craw-fish on the grill and whip up some tall glasses of the infamous New Orleans after the hurricane!
Choose a theme that you know you and your guests will enjoy and remember that you'll need to decorate accordingly. You will also want the theme idea be something available for party goers. Choose something too obscure, and your guests will not get as involved as they should keep it simple and clear. Another good way to get everyone involved is to make your event a potluck! It has a couple of bonus you will not be solely responsible for the food, which can be a little overwhelming, and everyone will benefit from several dishes that reflect all those different take on the party theme.
Most important is obviously having a great time regardless of who you are dressed as!
