I am looking to buy a mac laptop or desk top for music production. What type? and software should I buy?
I am somewhat new to the digital music world-i dont even own one in the pod. but I am a musician and im used to analog recording. I'm looking for a product thats easy and semi-affordable-Is mac my best choice for music production?
If you are an artist, I would suggest getting a MacBook Pro 15 ". (Http://www.macvortex.com have some good deals on MacBooks) We have a small graphic design shop and use Mac's at the office as well at home. My partner is playing in a band and not all of his recording, editing and mixing on a MacBook and the quality is very good. There is some good software available. Apple iLife '08 is almost a must have. It comes with iPhoto, iWeb, GarageBand, iDVD and iWeb. GarageBand will get you started with recording and mixing your songs. If you want to go a bit more PRO I would suggest Apple Logic Express 8 or Apple Logic Studio
