Guitar Tab Software – some choices
Guitar tab is the simplest way to write guitar music, but if you do it using a text editor that can be very time consuming to write out all those lines and get the numbers in the right place.
If you want to write your own tab for guitar, software is available – free and at a price – that edits and plays guitar tab for you. Probably the best free option is TuxGuitar. The name refers to the penguin logo in connection with the Linux operating system. TuxGuitar was developed for the Linux platform, but will work on Windows as well.
With TuxGuitar you can write your own tab or music notation for guitar with all the bells and whistles to write a conventional musical score. This program also imports and exports the file format used in GuitarPro tab editor. Just do a Google search for TuxGuitar.
It is an online guitar tab generator writes the tab for you while you click the mouse on a picture of the guitar fretboard. Tab generator at gootar.com click at a site on guitar fretboard, and you see the note on the tab in real time. You'll also hear the sound if you have the correct version of Flash Player.
There is also a program called Easy Tab Maker Pro 4.31 producing guitar tabs as you play. You plug your guitar into your computer and play. While you play, the program analyzes the sound to convert to tab through the notes you played and where your fingers were placed.
