music idolaters
What things do you think could fall into the category of practicing a lie? Rev. 22:14-15 movies, music, Christmas?

Rev 22:14 Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may be entitled to the tree of life and may enter through the gates into the city. Rev 22:15 But outside are dogs and sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and who loves and practices falsehood.

Practicing a Lie can mean many things, which also would fall under the category of idolatry, False Idols, Possibly cults or other activities which does not glorify God as it relates to music? Whether a person allows to occupy his mind will sooner or later determine his speech and his actions. This is the premise behind Philippians 4:08 and Colossians 3:2, 5: establishing wholesome thought patterns. Second Corinthians 10:05 says that we should "take captive every thought and make it obedient to Christ. "These writings provide a clear picture of the kind of music we should not listen to, as far as films are concerned? For a Christian, is the question not so much "is to see this movie a sin?" but "this is something that Jesus wanted me to do?" The Bible tells us that many things are allowed, but not all things are beneficial or constructive (1 Cor 10:23). It also says that whatever we say or do (or watch) is to be done to honor God (1 Corinthians 10:31). We must set our minds on things that are noble and pure (Philippians 4:8). If-and this is a big if-we can see a movie or television program that contains questionable content and still be consistent with these commands from the Bible, so it is hard to see a wrong in this. The danger lies in (1) how what we watch affects our hearts and (2) how it affects others. For ourselves, the scene we see if brings a feeling of pleasure, anger, or hatred, then we have sinned (Matthew 5:22, 28); and we must do everything we can to avoid it happening again. Often it does not see this type of film / scene again. Similarly, it can be a stumbling block for a person struggling with a habit or behavior that comes between him and God (1 Corinthians 10:25-33; Romans 14:13). As members of the body of Christ, we are being a light unto the world (Matthew 5:14), and a holy example of what God has done in our lives (1 Peter 2:11-12). If we are seen by others engage in an "R"-rated movie, it could send the wrong message to them that we enjoy and / or condone illicit sex and violence. It is not conducive to being a light in a dark world. So how can we know for sure whether what we see, is beneficial? When we become followers of Christ, we will have His Holy Spirit living in us (Acts 2:38, 2 Timothy 1:14). Jesus tells us that this spirit will guide us into all truth (John 16:13). One way the Spirit of God guides us is our conscience (Romans 1:12; 9:1). If your conscience tells you that what you see is wrong, it probably is. As far as Christmas is concerned? There is no legitimate reason for not writing to celebrate July While there is no biblical mandate to celebrate either. Ultimately, Of course, whether celebrating Christmas is a personal decision. Whatever Christians decide to do over Christmas, their views should not be used as a club to beat down or denigrate those with opposing views, nor should either view can be used as an accolade to induce pride to celebrate or not celebrate. As in all things we seek wisdom from Him who gives abundantly to all who ask (James 1:5), and accept one another in Christian love and grace, whatever our views on Christmas.
