Education is assigned a high priority in the Romanian scheme of things. The educated people have traditionally been given the respect they deserve all through the ages in Romania. Vital positions in a rural community, like the village mayor, teacher or priest used to be reserved for trained them. This tradition continues today in Romania. Education is compulsory up to 16 years for all citizens in the country. The level of education also is competitive for children and demanding their teachers.
In Romania starting child goes to nursery school at the age of three years. They can continue to kindergarten until they are six or seven, depending on the size of their abilities. School starts at eight and over by noon. Children learn to draw and color, get acquainted with alphabets and has told many stories through which they learn. About finishing kindergarten, children must undergo test of basic schools, they want to subscribe to. Primary education lasts four years, who are aged from six or seven until the child is ten or eleven years old. School hours in primary schools also from 8:00 for dinner. Children bring some light snacks to school, and fed with a small carton of milk with a roller. They go home to get their lunch instead have in school themselves.
The curriculum in primary education is considerably more varied. During this period, students fill out a form, which has a list of colleges. Students can select their choice of secondary school in the order they prefer to form. But whether they actually make it to the schools of their choice will largely be determined by the grades they score.

Finally at the end of four years of high school, students have to take matriculation examination, after which they becomes eligible to enter a university to further their academic career if they wish.
