How do you expect more minorities to get into rock and enjoy it…?
When some rock bands are sporting the confederate flag? I was watching 100 most shocking moments in music history on VH1, and they were on a story about lynyrd skynyrd, and the group was sporting a confederate flag at a concert. Now i’m black and a huge rap fan, but i’m trying to broaden my musical tastes. I’ve recently gotten into Led zeppelin, pink floyd, smashing pumpkins, etc., but if you want more minorities to enjoy rock, your not going to get it by having southern groups sport a flag that has a dark history behind it. When i saw that, i immediately wanted to give up on rock and go back the the genre i love most. What do you think? I just saw it, and i thought it would be a turn-off for most minorities, idk maybe i’m overreacting.
I hope i didn’t sound ignorant with this question, and if anyone thinks otherwise, i apologize.
Sorry you were offended, but that was some really old footage. I guess you could avoid that particular band. It’s not like there aren’t some pretty glaring issues with some rap music, but if you don’t like something, you can always seek something different.
